1993 coupe LT1. Took the vette out today for a ride. Running great at first. Stopped at an auto parts store to pick up some winterizing stuff. When I restarted it was running extremely rough and backfiring slightly under acceleration. I was approximately 2 miles from home and made it home under light acceleration but under heavier pedal it would attempt to choke out and backfire. Any suggestions? No check engine lights came on and the car has been running great prior to today.
To start, I would check for codes even though you never got the check engine light. After that, run though the basics. You picked a good year. 93 LT1's rock!

Welcome to the 92/93 madness
It took the following to get rid of my issues:
new icm
new coil
new opti
383 engine
new style opti
new style cable from opti to connector
Yea, I'm being a little funny. Really my problem did not 100% go away until I "fixed the connection from the opti to the connector on the passenger side.
If I had to do it again I would put a scope on the opti leads and see if I was getting good signals.
Then check the wiring harness
then go down the icm/coil rabbit hole
Since you have no CEL light I would not suggest checking the INJ 1 and INJ2 fuses. When my INJ 2 fuse blew it ran like carp, but I had all kinds of lights
Well I live in CT. Fortunately I have heard very good things about The Corvette Center in Newington, CT. I called them today and they want to take a look at it. I will be bringing to them in the morning.
