One thing I never worried about was the clap... That is what they make penicillin for, and if she is smokin hot and more importantly interested in having some adult fun with me, then I can always make an appointment with my good doctor after the fire drips get started! Haven't had to worry about that for a long time, I am unfortunately happily married
As a VOVC and subsequent TBI survivor, I can tell you that you are 1000% wrong in your view of helmets. Good helmets have saved thousands of people who would otherwise be dead or worse.

Amen...

I know a few people who would be in wheelchairs for life or on life support without wearing helmets in their wrecks.

Fate CAN have a big part to play, too. Had a guy wearing his helmet overseas go off the road, came off the bike and hit a post at the base of his neck. Instant death...

But I can tell you that when I hit the pavement at over 60 MPH on my butt and my helmet smacked the pavement leaving a 2" wide patch through the kevlar...I was glad to be wearing it.

These cars are pretty tough...

I saw an LT1 go airborne at Hallett in T2 and hit a tree about 12'-15' off the ground...doing about 60 mph.

Driver walked away...

Like anything in life, conditions can changed based on minute details...but overall I've seen some pretty bad wrecks at tracks and on the street and most of the drivers walked away.
