Coils and ign modules can do that when they get hot. HEI?
Id look at the coil first

Did you clean and tighten them, or just test the battery with a volt meter ?

I've see Corrosion build up inside of a cable crimp, all looks good on the outside, poor connection on the inside!

I went through similar situation. Came to find out that the negative terminal had gotten cross threaded, not terrible, but enough to do this. Also check the grounds on the bell housing.

I thought about heat soak, but it was 60 out when I tried to get it going last night.

Found it.
The wires on the starter solenoid were loose. Tightened them up, and it runs great.
