I'm currently in the process of doing an auto to ZF swap and am wondering if I'm missing three parts. My ZF is a black tag updated with the crash thru shifter design used on 94-96 vehicles. My question is do I need the stop block stop, shim, and bolt? See item 37,38,and 39. This is taken out of my 93 FSM. If someone could look this up in their 94-96 manual I would be greatly appreciated.
armysnipe, I looked through my1996 FSM and your manual shows a lot more than mine. Mine does not break the shifter assy. down at all!
Now I also picked up a ZF six speed S6-40 spare parts catalog a very long time ago. It shows a stop; part#1052 307 127
Unit specification for:
1052 000 031/032/035/036/044/045/046/047/081/084. But having said that they outline it as number 717 stop, 718 bolt., 716 shim.
I don't know if any of this helped but that's all I got!
Good luck!
Thanks! That actually helps since I have an 089 trans. I realized after looking at the diagram further that this is the early lift type design shifter and the stop isn't used when updated to the crash thru design. Now I can resume my trans install.
talk to ZFdoc; he can advise you and if wanted he can rebuild the entire shifter assembly; I had him do mine in conjunction with a short throw shifter upgrade...was money very well spent; he also provided invaluable information (gratis) on the clutch install.

I've been in contact with Bill and he's been very helpful. I did purchase his short throw shifter, but haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. I'm no longer a virgin with a clutch. This was my first install ever and between support from ZFdoc and Jim @ powertorquesystems.com it was quite painless. Next is the C-Beam, drive shaft and D44 upgrade install.
