Default Help - Need C4 Info

Hello, Im a mustang guy, but I'm looking to get a vette. The Mustang platform is horribly outdated and no matter what you do to it, at its heart its still a chassis from 1979. What I would like to know is how does the C4 compare to the C5 in the chassis department. What kind of mods does it take to make a C4 as stiff as the C5 and to even out the weight distribution. Or, should I just start with a C5? Thanks for any help.

If you have the money, get a C5. I still love the C4, but the C5 is just an all around better car. The older C5's with higher miles are very affordable. Drive them both. If you like the C4 better, try to find a 96 w/ LT4 motor. Either way, you'll never go back to the blue oval! :chevy

I dont think there really is any way to make it as stiff as a C5 can be, because of the C5's hydroform frame. However, if youre looking for something to autox the C4 is good enough to beat a C5. The general rule is to buy the newest you can afford.
