In an effort to better my SuperRam's best time (10.36@ 130) I installed a looser converter in my 4L60e over the weekend. My thought is that the new Miniram that I am running needs a few hundred more rpms off the line to make up for the higher rpm power compared to the SuperRam. I installed the converter over the weekend and started up the car yesterday afternoon to put the car on the trailer for today's race. Driving down the street, I noticed that the fresh converter wouldn't lock up. I checked everything including the fluid level 3 times. I have a switch on the console and lock the converter up after the 1-2 shift. AAAARRRRGGGGHHH. Up went the car on jackstands at 5:00 pm yesterday. Got the new converter out and the old converter in and the car running in 2.5 hours. (I'm getting pretty good at this). Had 11 runs today at Sonoma Raceway. Air was good with a slight headwind (again). All the runs were between 10.40-10.46@128-130. The 60's were once again off of the SuperRam times. 1.42-1.44 vs the SuperRam's 1.39-1.40. I've have the tune pretty much dialed in for the Miniram. I think with ideal conditions and a looser converter, I should be able to better the SuperRam's best. Already, today's times are better than the SuperRam would have run with these same conditions. I lost my last race with a 10.459 on a 10.46 dial. Next race is in 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll have the looser converter running properly. Willie
I think you're gonna be happy with it Willie,If you gave it a little more cam I think the SR would be in your mirror. If it weren't for smog, I would have done a mini in a heartbeat.
Hummm, you say you're getting good at changing converters........?
Broke out by .001 ... that sums up bracket racing.
Have you thought that you might need to change your shock settings... with the car leaving softer on the bottom end, loosening up the rebound a few clicks on the rear shocks could help the 60ft.

Thanks, I might try that. I've been spending most of the time on the laptop with the tune. Now you've got me groveling on the ground on my back.
