Before I replaced the pump, I would ensure that there is power getting to the pump. I would do that because I don't like spending money on unnecessary parts.
Get your hands on a test light if you don't already have one. Pull harness at pump, attach test light lead to ground,...check for power at pump harness.
You can do what Agent86 is recommending -it's easier and faster, but doesn't prove that power is making it to the pump.
The pump (and therefor the harness for it) are located at the back of the car. Pump is in the tank, harness runs to it at the top of the tank. Should be a 3 pin plug there. Did you read the link that 84vetteman205hp posted? There are pics and description that answer many of your questions. Look again, HERE.

Changed the fuel pump relay. Still tries to start but don't hear the hum of the pump. .
Key on ; the pump only runs for 2 sec then turns off
If your oil pressure switch is working correctly it should run again as soon as you crank the engine over
How about hooking up a known good battery to the fuel pump and see if it does work or not and what pressure it maintains? Noid light only tells you that there is voltage. I'd rather know what the voltage is.
But was tying to help a non savvy guy in the easiest, cheapest way possible. You're right that the DVOM is better, but you need to know how to operate it.
