I live in new jersey, I passed with a cat and a nice hot engine, I had mine private inspected sat in my vette, I have my fans controlled by a switch next to my seat. Turn em on when the engine is just hott enough. Next day took the cat off sits in my toolbox lol even my friends use it lol

I wasn't tryin to insult your skill of fabricating. Its just a bracket like that HAS to be right on.

Here in Missouri there is no emission requirements on vehicles 25 years +, so my 85 is well within that period of age.

On the subject matter, a good quality AIR delete kit will require no new belt, shims, will have a steel pulley option, (vs. the plastic), have a chrome plated option, and have absolutely no alignment problems or inferior fasteners......there are cheap versions out there that I would not recommend if you are not making one yourself.

Understood...

its a design/mfg process. Know the process, follow a plan. Easy job to do.
You make a pattern based on measurements. Make a mock-up to test fit. Make adjustments as needed, refit, mfg the final design parts. This is nothing more than brackets to stabilize the PS support bracket to the head or intake, then a cross member to hold the pulley.. I'd even throw a rear support to prevent the top plate with the pulley from being pulled forward when the eng torques up real hard... got one now thats saved my accessories a couple times when the factory brackets crack..and they DO/WILL.
If I had a decent way of cutting some aluminum plate...
(no flow jet in my back yard) I'd whip up one this afternoon...

Thats called a "challenge" on my planet. If you believe the first one that came from the mfg of these kits was dead nuts spot on right, you'd be mistaken...THAT is why they come with "shims".

Spacers are the easy part.

I've already built HD accessory support brackets to replace the thin wall tubular supports that crack and let your expensive accessory brackets (PS pump, alt, a/c compressor, tensioner etc) break that are made of aluminum that are hard to find new, so its not a big deal.
The "mark-up" on this stuff is what has my attention...it IS no more than $35-$40 worth of stuff assembled and bolted together. Good margins for resale.

one person sees problems, I see opportunity.
If you are planning to mass produce them and can justify rigging it up for the first one, economy of scale now comes into effect. Just to produce one for yourself is going to be hard to justify the time spent. In my case, for me to even take the plans given, get a shop with the equipment that will cut it to spec is going to be expensive. Even if I had the shop, the time spent getting the thing right is going to be more than my time is worth. But again, if you plan to make 1000 of them for sale and you can do it, more power to you. It now becomes a totally different equation.
