Default Quick question with a simple answer I'm sure

Underneath my recently acquired '86 auto last night working on an oil leak problem and noticed an open hard line on the passenger side coming from the rear. Looks cut off and just hanging there open about even with where the trans mates. I haven't had a C4 in a while and can't remember much about the underside of the car. Was that a fuel line that a p.o. re-routed? or...? I'm sure somebody can answer right away.

Is it coming from the cat? There is a hard line (1/2" tube) that comes off the air pump and goes to the cat to provide extra oxygen to help light up the cat when you first start the car.

That makes perfect sense! The car has an air pump delete and a pulley on a mount in it's place. That would explain why the line is hanging there open. When I get under there tonight I'll verify if it's going to the cat or not. Thanks
