Default what carb are you running?

i was running a 770 double pumper and that was a ****** carb it was leaking gas and not performing properly, also it made my vette smell like a weed eater from the gassy exhaust. I just got rid of it and put a 650 single pumper 4 barrel on and its already gotten a lot better gas but i feel like it might have gotten slower.

my vette also has non stock headers or lifters and a TCI shift kit....
just curious to whoever else is out there running carbs

If you use the Holley carb selector
http://www.holley.com/applications/C...bSelection.asp

A 600cfm vac sec carb is recommended for street use under 6000

A stock 350 @ 6K can only suck 520 CFM

Check your plugs to see if you still may be running rich. I have a 600 cfm 1405 edelbrock that I have leaned out as it was running a little rich and I seldom wind my engine over 4900. You should have received a tuning booklet with your carb if you bought it new. It will give you jetting and metering rod help for tuning your carb.

770s a little big for most 350s

Carbs take some fine tuning out of the box. Cant just bolt em on and expect it knows how to adjust itself to your combo

850 DP here love it.

I don't get it. The C4 was a step forward to fuel injection yet i see people putting carbs on them.

Low 9's at 145+mph.

There is some video here of my first tune up passes a few months ago but I've bettered them and the car is getting faster every test session.

LOVE the TPI carb conversion.... I only wish I had something as innovative....

Depends on what intake you have.
A low profile intake with a drop base air cleaner will clear ;
in your case you may be in the market for one of these hi rise hoods?

I have just recently purchased a Pro Systems Racing carb. Based off their tech, it's a large bore, smaller venturi design based off a 950 Holley HP carb. It's effectively an 838 cfm carb which I will be setting atop a Edelbrock RPM Air Gap dual plane manifold on top of a 383 stroker motor.

Dyno session will commence fairly soon, but expecting more than 525 hp, 500 tq. Videos to follow.

Holley Carb = bucket with a hole

However if you feel the need to remove the fuel injection, along with easy start's and great fuel economy. When will someone do it properly and fit quad downdraft webber carbs. Then you can tune it properly and make serious horsepower without loosing too much in fuel economy.
