Hey guys. I've lurked here for a while and finally registered. You guys really know your stuff! I finally know where to go for good info. I'm the only guy I know with a Corvette! Everyone I know runs older stuff. When I beat 'em they cry.
Anyway, anyone know anything about the Vanderzangen (I think that's the name!) headers? Check 'em out on http://www.vetteexhaust.com. The price is right, but I think I'll save up for the Hooker Super Comps unless someone can recommend them. Also, I don't think they have provisions for emissions.
He has a really bad reputation on this board. He burned a member Fastguy for a few hundred and the system he sent him completely didn't not fit the car. Look at his ebay feedback, you'll see.
I would recommend the TPiS headers. I have them and they install easily even for a relative novice like me. I did it with the car on jackstands in my garage. Plus, you are close to them. Their garage is in Chaska. They are very helpful and they know their stuff. It's worth the extra money to avoid the headaches.
You most often get what you pay for. You might check out JBA's, a little expensive but darn good headers. Go in fairly easily and ,BTW, get them ceramic coated for less heat problems.
What ever you buy, buy them uncoated and have them shipped directly to Jet Hot.
I have a set from TPIS that came coated. Tomorrow they are going to Jet Hot to be recoated right. Jet Hot is doind a group purchase right now for 30% off.
I had a set on my Z28 that were Jet Hot coated. They looked great for years and still looked great when I sold the car.
All they are are Hedman Hedders...I bought a pair off someone on Ebay. They fit OK, but they're nothing special. Also, there is no pre-tapped O2 bung :smash:
