I'm replacing bushings, ball joints and tie rods. I thought I would also install a lowering kit. But I'm wondering how to remove the spring without injuring myself. How to reinstall would be helpful too.
You'll already have the arms off, so you're only a few bolts away at that point. As long as you have the front end up high enough - a foot and a half or so - you can carefully jack up one side a little if you need to and then slide the spring out the high side.

If you already have the control arms off, remove the 2 bolts on each side holding the brackets and remove the spring. Some of the nuts in the engine compartment may be challenging to hold, but you can do it.
