Steering noise

I have a 1996 m6 and my steering is making noise.
Turning off center, either way is creating this clicking noise.
Has anybody experienced this?

Where is the clicking noise coming from?

If it's in the column it's the turn signal canceling mechanism.

Many vettes have this problem.If your problem is the same as mine it is the steering knuckle (u joint) under the hood.I did try greasing it up but did not last long.I believe there was a bulletin on it.I don't even notice it that much.I don't believe new parts are available.As long as it is not very loose I would not worry about it.

Engine compartment area, got another reply mentioning the knuckle and I'm going to check that, thank you for getting to me.

Mine, as well ('96 vert). It feels as though it's transferring up the column, so it's likely the steering knuckle. Added to the long list of things to eventually fix...
