Read the rest. " Note, however, that the LT4 manifold will NOT fit LT1 heads. They will bolt up, but the ports will not match"

It sounds like the solution is porting the LT1 intake or and LT4 converted intake as the poster above mentioned.
They make a Vortec HSR that is designed to work with Vortec heads I had one mated to the Fastburns. The Miniram III will also supposedly mate to vortec heads.

You guys are getting hung up on LT1 VS LT4. We are talking about vortec heads here. A little confusing.

It is confusing. Well the OP is asking about using LT1 intake...so LT1 heads.

Additionally, I've read that the Vortec head is modeled after the LT1 runner -especially on the intake.

It is

what we are forgetting about here is the LT4 intake has more material to mate with the larger ports on the LT4 head that the Fastburn head was modeled after.

Good pics. SO....

If the LT1 and LT4 have the same intake runner location and dimensions, and the LT4 head port is .1" taller (than the LT1 head), then there must be a mis-match between a stock LT4 intake and head. Yes? No?

Yes, rumor is they did not want the LT4 to outperform the LS1 so they choked it a little with the intake.

Oh, and that is what STL94LT1 was telling you guys all along. Those pictures came from his link.

Well, I'm a slow learner, so wanted be crystal clear. Now, I've GOT IT. Thanks!

The too small intake sounds just like the Crossfire "conspiracy theory". Lol.

...who were f'ing me up. His claims, plus the GS Reg site is self contradicting too; They say the ports are the same, then they say that the LT4 won't work on LT1 head b/c the "ports won't match". So WTF? How can the ports not match if they are the same size in the same place?? I hope that you can see my confusion, and desire to have a full understanding of the situation.

I am assuming you would have to open up the whole length of the runner (not just port match) on the LT4 intake to realize any gain with the Fastburns........
