Can some one refresh my memory, when the valves start to make noise (high miles), can we remove the valve lash on a hydro roller setup? If so what have you guys used on a stock setup? 1/4 turn past zero lash or 1 full turn past zero lash like the Comp Cams?
If your 88 adjustment is the same as my 89,( which it should be) the Factory Service Manual says one full turn after 0 lash..."I would go by the book for a stock engine"... There adjustment of one full turn puts the plunger midway in the lifter....WW
I was thinking the same thing, might just order a set... Hate to get too in depth because I have plans for a rebuild in 6 months.
Why would you order a set of new lifters when you don't even know if that's the problem..It could be a lifter, rockers , a clogged pushrod... I would pull the valve covers and do a little checking before spending money on something you don't need....Lifters aren't that cheap, and sure not the easiest thing to install.....WW
