There should be a label in the engine compartment somewhere that shows the vacuum connections. Mine is on the radiator shroud.

First off fill out your details for all I know your the guy down the street and I can walk down there and help?? We do that.

Second a picture is worth 10,000 words.

Most likely, the lines are Fuel Tank Evaporation lines but more details needed.

FSM is the Factory Service Manual. There is one for each specific year and it contains repair/testing procedures along with parts location drawings. If you will be doing your own work then you should definately have one.

It can be bought in either book form or on a disk. They are available on ebay and again they are year specific so you will need to make sure it is for the '96.

It has diagrams, drawings and exploded views. It also has diagonistic procedures. Just make sure you get the one specifically for your year. There will be two books to the set and each is over an inch thick. It is not the Preliminary OEM book nor the small Haynes, or similar, books.

If you google "96 corvette factory service manual" you will see the book set for $129.00 and below it the CD for $25.81 plus shipping. Check them out and see which you prefer. I think both have customer service numbers for questions before you buy.
