Hi everyone , Teddy here. It seems like it will not be raining here this Sat and Sun. So I will be taking off my opt spark on my 1994 Corvette LT-1. So far I have tried to retrieve the codes but my OBD 1 and My OBD-2 testers will not communicate with the OBD, blank screen. So I went old school and tested every plug wire with my inductance timing light. Number one wide would flash most of the time but the rest of them would flash some time or not at all. So I think that it is the Optispark. With so little to go on other then the car’s engine will turn over the same as always and it backfires every so many revolutions. This is all I have to go on, is the test that I did. Before I take this all apart I would like to know what is the opinion of my friends , if this is what you all thing it might be. It all started with me washing the engine. The car started up with no problems at all and run great. After a five mile trip I came home and on the way It rained and I ran through the rain for about two miles.
I parked the car and came out after about four hours and it would not start only backfire. I have asked and gotten some good advice to what it could be, and most said that it was the optspark.
Is this what it sounds like to you all, the opt spark ? Please reply as soon as possible. I am not in good health (cancer) and am very weak so this will be a hard job for me to do, so I need your alls best guess as to what this could be.
I thank you for all your friendship and your help.
Health, Love and Happiness always.
Your friend, Teddy.
PS, Help..
It concerns me that you are not getting comuation with your scanners esp 2 of them. I would correct this problem before I would go any futher. Everytime time I have had a car in with no start and no comuation it was the ECM not saying this is your problem but you want to correct all known problems before going futher
