Open the passenger door. Open the little panel on the end of the dash. I think it is a red 10 AMP fuse. Mine says FPP under it I think in the lower/right corner of the fuses.
looks like the pump is probably bad, then.. the fuse is good.. this is the 2nd time it's broken down since i got the car, and i've only driven it home (2 miles) and been working on it in the driveway.. :mad
i'm starting to wonder if maybe i shouldn't have traded my IROC for this car, my '86 ran like a top, heh..
i'll buy a pump and put it in, hopefully that'll fix it
thanks anyways,
Colin
The pump is an easy swap if it is it. Why not put a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on the right side fuel rail and see if you have pressure. They tend to go around 100k miles.
i'm just trying to narrow down the possibilities..
i've now changed the plug (it was toasted, anyway) and put on a new FP relay.. the fuse is good so that leaves the FP.. i can't hear the pump start when i turn on the key and after cranking there is no spark, no gassy smell, and when i push in the valve on the fuel rail i get nothing..
heh, i get 25% off at work and we stock the AC Delco so I'm going to put in an AC Delco pump with a new strainer and see if that fixes it..
could that have given it a really bad stumbling idle? once it revved up a bit it was better but could the FP have been part of the problem?
thanks :)
Colin
