TC Lockup...please explain
I know this is a dumb question but I really dont know what a torque converter is or what it does. Also the Hypertech chip prevented TC lockup, I think but I took that out. I want to get a switch to turn it on or off(?) but wil that switch be ok to use with a shift kit? Thanks for the help!

ill explain to you what little i know about automatic (Or any) transmissions....please correct me if im wrong. the torque converter is what allows the engines revolution to be converted into rotation of the driveshaft, but also keeps the engine from stalling at low speeds. torque converter lockup is the RPM where the converter stops "slipping" and allows a 1:1 ratio between input revolutions from the engine and output revolutions from the converter. in other words, the engine is turning the tranny directly with no slippage. hope this helps :chevy
