yes I did. after that the scanner ask me for the 4 digi also. and after that it ask me if my motor was 5.7. yes or no. I aswer yes
tell me if a bad check engine light volt. will affect the scanner
The bulb in the SES light shouldn't affect the scanner. My initial thought would be a bad ecm, or circuit from the ecm to the aldl. see if this helps: http://www.chevythunder.com/Flow%20c...roubleshooting Flow Chart Pages

If you can get the SES to flash by jumpering the ALDL connector you know the circuit is good (assuming your SES bulb is good ? )
Does the light come on when you 1st turn the Ign on as it should?

the light never come on. not when I jump the aldl. not when 1st trun the ing.
tomorrow I will try to make some test on the ecm. following this instructions http://www.chevythunder.com/SES%20chart%20A-1.htm
but Iam a little confuse here. on the chart "where it say:probe ecm term A5 with test light"
my question. sure I use the testlight on the conector or in the ecm it self. can someone just clarify this point to me thanks
Disconnect ECM connectors.
Turn on ignition.
Connect terminal A5 in the connector to ground, either with a wire or a test light.
The SES light should come on.
If the SES light does NOT come on then it is probably a bad SES bulb, but could be a problem in the wiring.
I know you have a FSM, so look on page 6E3-A-18.

Reason: Added clarification. "A5 in the connector".
after doing more test with terminal A5. I find out that the terminal wire is ok. also at the other end Iam getting good volts with the key to on position.. So I direct my attention to the old information plastic circuit. I find out that is was making some bad contact.
now the ses light is allways on.
I follow the troubleshooting on chart A2 . and it say to get a new prom
I had 2 old ecm at home. so I did the swap and test with the same prom. and no change.
acording to the chart I need a new prom.
i been looking at ebay. and the cost is about $200 that is a big problem.
Is there a way to check the ecm prom to find out if is good or bad????????? I dont like the Idea of getting a new $200 prom. just to find out that make s no diferance
