1987 Corvette Issue
That's a good point about the MAT and the injectors. I'll clean them out and see how they run after. If they need to be replaced then I will do so. I am referring to the sensor under the plenum. I assumed it was a MAP sensor since thats what the code said. Codes 33, 34, 36, 43. 33 - 36 is MAF/MAP/MAT. 46 is knock sensor.
That's a good point, I read a little bit in my transmissions class about the magnetics and ball berrings. I will avoid the tranny flush and replace the filter and tranny fluid.
Thanks for the responses! It's a huge help
Thanks for that picture. When I installed headers on my 87 everything went great, until I started the car and the Service Engine Soon light came on. My Innova OBD2 & 1 tool said there were no codes so I started looking for loose wires. I found one connector floating free at the front of the passenger side rocker arm cover.
In my search for the connector, I also noticed that the engine fan was on as soon as I started the engine and stayed on until I turned it off. When I did a search on the fan issue, I found this thread. Sure enough, the connector is supposed to be attached to the Coolant Temp Sensor.
I probably knocked it off wrestling the Air Injector Pipes back in place. Unfortunately I couldn't find the sensor. The service manual indicated where it was located but for the life of me I couldn't find it on my car. With the help of your picture I found it, it's right there at the tip of this red arrow. Now that I sprayed a little engine cleaner in that area, it's easier to see (yeah, right!)...

I found it with the help of your picture. Now I just need to buy a longer pair of needle nose pliers or forceps so I can fish the connector in there.
