In my continuing quest to quiet my 86 down without choking it, I've come across Walker Quiet Flow mufflers. I'm looking for a factory C2 full exhaust (not sidepipe) type sound and NO drone. Will Quiet Flows and a 2.25 true dual system do it for me? My other option is a catless front Y, Walker Super Converter and Quiet Flows. I want a little rumble but not enough to make the neighbors hate me. Thanks.

The Walker "super-turbo" is likely the closest to your request. A 17483 package is the pair + the required elbow I believe. I have never used this system but have seen and been around several 92+ that use the similar system with no drone and just a slightly improved "tone".
If you're doing the "engine back" it might be time to be shopping for a "take-off" '92+ and do "true-duals" while you're at it. The LT tips I believe look very good on the early cars. There's a couple posts regarding the install with completed snapshots that look very good. I haven't seen those posts for a couple years but the search function here works extremely well. It might be worth poking around. Another plus for the 92+ is the "stainless".
Where are you located? I have an LT system that has Midas equivalents (super-turbo) with LT tips that I'd maybe sell inexpensively. It's of course "uncut" and won't ship.
I have the DynoMax mufflers on my car. I like the stainless steel exhaust tips (now polished). They look pretty much like the stock mufflers and tips. I never liked the round tips that most aftermarket mufflers have. Both outlet pipes are functional, so they are louder than stock. Here's what they look like (that puddle of ATF isn't really there -- it's your imagination):
Unfortunately, I've had Super Turbos in the past both with and without converters and they drone badly. That's why I was considering stepping down to Quiet Flows. I'm just hoping they're still quiet with true dual exhaust.
on my old 85 (now my son's) I installed a set of stock replacement mufflers. these are the types that are sold by just about every corvette parts vendor. they are usually aluminized w/ dual functioning outlets. after a short break-in period, they thing started to sound great, almost to the point of rivaling my corsas. a good muscle car sound without drawing too much attention. best part, no drone, and just shy of $200/pair. i'm thinking I bought them at mid-america.
I'm running a 2 1/4 system with magnflow cats cut into it, and Trufx mufflers.
It doesn't sound too loud, it has a nice growl like corvettes used to have when they had real dual exhaust.
The original owner had the full 2 1/4 system on when I got the car, with muffler eliminators no cats needed in florida, I bought cats at Summit and the tru-fx mufflers at Parts Geek.

I did get the dreaded drone with the DynoMax mufflers at around 50 to 55 MPH. I put on a crossover rear Y pipe, which lowered the noise at idle. What really made this setup livable was putting in HushMat. Now it has a nice rumble, no drone.
On another thread I recommended Corvette Central's exhaust section. They make quiet muffler systems that do reduce drone. I purchased their set for my 1984 that was really giving me a headache after any drives longer than 15 minutes. Still sounds like a Vette outside, but no more resonance inside.
Walker Quiet Flows are more or less a direct replacement OEM-type muffler to the best of my knowledge. Supposedly they flow about 35% better than OEM though. I'm wondering if they will be still quiet behind true duals like an early C3 with stock mufflers. If not, I would go back to a stock-type layout with a high-flow main cat (no precats). C2s and early C3s don't drone.
