Installed like this?

I was testing my mount in that picture. Also checking clearance for the USB Cable

Exactly what I'm talking about. Sweet.
I have to get it into an early C4 dash. Think I am going to completely reconfigure my dash since the AC/Heat are gone and I already have the VetteAid analog gauges (2 gauge insert where the conversion/MPG switches used to be).

Which DAC and amps are you going to use?

I already have a pair of Arc Audio KS 300.4 amps I am using with my App Radio @.. so those will remain

I have a thread in the audio section but I am using:

Nexus 7 with Timur's USB ROM
Behringer UCA 202
Directed DMHD1000i HD radio tuner with MJS cable and b0bd's app

then to an old school Phoenix Gold PLD1 to boost the line levels

one thing I have added is a RCA in-line volume/level control to be used for volume. I have not confirmed it completely, but the tuner connects to the RCA input for the Behringer so the Nexus cannot control the tuner volume, I was hoping the nexus would control the output level of the behringer

I still need to determine where the volume control will end up being installed/mounted

I do want to have a dedicated volume control. Started reading up on all this last night once I finally got the nexus 7 to load Timur ROM and ALDLDroid to connect while charging. I did notice that I had to have power supplied to the USB Y cable (and therefore the ALDL data cable) for ALDLDroid to connect. I connected the charge cable to the existing USB port on my head unit.
It was quite the victory for me.

Cool deal!!

I will probably use the USB cable for ALDL for now, but then change to Bluetooth at some point.

Is this a picture from your ZR-1? Did the ZR-1 come with the manual AC/Heat controls as an option or did you change it to a manual control?

Sorry to highjack the thread...

edit: I just found out in 1990 the manual AC was standard and the electronic AC was an option.

I was just getting to reply..yes C60 was standard on 1990 for the ZR-1, for one year only and there are about 124 1990 ZR-1s with C60.

So mine was one of the lucky 124 to miss out on the optional C68.. my ZR-1 also only came with a painted roof as well, the sticker was just shy of $60K in 1990 due to the lack of the C68 ( which was ~$200 option) and the transparent or dual roof option..

no worries on the hijack.. all is good

Yes it should. I believe there's a XDF for the 90. I know I did one for the 91 a few years ago that should work. Remember the TunerPro XDF work on ALDLDroid

Has anyone had a chance to really play with ALDLDroid yet, curious how well it works. Can you turn the gauges/readouts orange to match the dash? In all the pics I've found they are blue. Kicking around a permanent install of a android based device in the dash, not replacing the head unit but rather something smaller like a nexus 5 or galaxy.

The person to ask this of is Sébastien Giroux (my recollection is that he lives in Canada). He's the author of ALDLDroid. Here's a Google search link:

Well it is to a degree, currently it should match the functionality of the Scanner Portion of TunerPro. I am close to having my car done and drive-able so I will be able to test out his software and my adx even more, I like the fact that I will always have access to datalogging, no need for another piece of equipment..

Just checking back on progress. I'm thinking about putting my 7" Tab 3 over my light up info display for data read out and nav. I have a pioneer X6500 radio and an old Realistic CB down in the radio slot, so I can't put my tablet there.

He told me he doesn't have an 1227165 ECM to experiment with, but he will get one and look into this. Obviously he wants to support everybody.
Wish I knew this before I went ahead and bought a Red Devil River BT adaptor for use on my '89. Certainly explains why I haven't been able to get mine to work properly. Damn it!

I've tried contacting Timm via eBay (that's where I bought the RDR BT adaptor) but haven't heard back from him. And given what I've read about his responding (or lack there of) to customers, I doubt I will hear anything from him for quite some time... if ever.

So what are my options? Should I just go with the 1320 BT adaptor? I already have ALDLDroid installed on my phone (a OnePlus One) and all I really want to do is some simple realtime data logging/monitoring. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
