Just to be clear, it is also important that the chime does sound when the key is in (and the door is open).

Under the steering column...so you have to remove the carpeted hush panel. with the foot well light in it.

I can not answer that. I would like to know how your car is cranking and running without a "chip" in the key. There has to be a "override" module installed to "trick" the system and make it think that the "chipped" key is in the ignition...thus providing the correct resistance to make the CCM/BCM allow the fuel, starter and injectors to fire.


The chime dinging with or without the key being in it can be due to something was damaged inside the steering column...or the aftermarket lock cylinder is a piece of crap.
