Default 700r4

I am rebuilding my 700r4 transmission and the new reverse input drum has a checkball in it and the old one did not can I still use this reverse drum ?

i take it u mean on the piston it should have one unless some one removed and but a restricter in it on a previous rebuild the difference in drums are the oil slot in between the bushings

..... Is the fluid transfer hole in the small neck round or square ? ... if its square it should be OK to use ... I always buy those from the stealership ............

it is a checkball in the actual drum,and yes both the old and new drums have a square fluid transfer hole. The checkball is located on the front face of the drum as you look at it before you remove it from the trans and the old one did not have this.

the reverse drum has the square hole but it also has a checkball on the face of the drum (as you see it before u remove it) and the original did not have this
