Default Where is sensor for analog temp gauge on 95

My 95 needle gauge is stuck all the way past full hot. The digital readout is fine and I am not overheating. It wont move with engine on or off, hot or cold, just stuck full hot. Does this sound like bad gauge or bad sensor? 95 LT1.

Its on the side of your head.

I broke one back in 2005 installing headers

As for gauge or sensor.... you'll have to troubleshoot since it could be a bad connection too.

You also have a coolant temp sensor on the front by the water pump.

..... The gauge sender is usually found on the pass cylinder head between #6 and #8 ... the sender in the LT water pump is for the ECM ...........

Can anyone post a trouble shooting tree from the service manual for the analog gauge? Mine is stuck full hot, digital reads 193. I have ruled out cluster. I found my sensor, it was hooked up with one green wire, though if I grounded it unplugged it would show full cold but no change.

I'm using Painless Performance's wire wrap to do my whole engine harness.

There is probably other stuff similar to the factory wrap, I just find that stuff hard to work with.

You shouldn't need to order that product. Any larger electrical supply house, some auto parts stores or even a good local hardware store should have it.

Buy "local" - no shipping and it might be a friend or neighbor that could use the sale!
