Do I just get the oil for the oil feed line directly from the pan or do I plumb it some where else. I ask this because I found a guide for building remote mount turbo setups and they said for LT1's "On the LT1, you will run the feed from the Ľ” NPT port above the oil filter" Does anyone have a picture of this area because I am baffled
You need pressurized oil. You won't get that from the pan. the NPT port above the filter has pressure. You can return the oil to the valve cover.

I can save you the money and tell you right now what it will do stock: 407 RWHP & 437 RWTQ w/single rear mount turbo @ 8 PSI. Stock 1995 ECM with tune.
I can also tell you that the same turbo on the built 9.5:1 forged engine will do: 600+ RWHP at 15 PSI. Upgraded Fuel system was also required...
I would be perfectly happy with that.... I take it that is your green lt1 auto coupe that has the raptor kit on it.... what kind of dyno was that and was that with stock injectors. Also what kind of lag do you get, and how does it behave on the streets

Yes, my car before I gave it to my son. He has it in Reno...
Dyno Jet Dyno at Henderson Performance near San Antonio Tx.
Stock engine had stock injectors, the built engine has bigger
Lag is about the same as a Pro Charger. She comes on strong just before 3k
I have a 3k stall TQ to take advantage...
The TQ is a little different on the street but after a while you start to like it. Other than that, if you stay out of boost it's like driving a stock car. Get into boost and hold on...
BTW - Corey Henderson of Henderson Performance is installing Raptor Remote Mount C4 Turbo Systems just north of San Antonio. I think you can get a single turbo system installed and tuned for around $5k.

I would be interested in seeing how the turbo is mounted. .. whether the exhaust hanger is holding it or if there is a bracket

looks like the STS/Raptor kit uses the existing differential (spring) mounts and the muffler hangers to support the weight. It appears that it's sufficient, since the system doesn't have traditional mufflers (which are heavy).

That's the site that planted the seed in my mind about this budget build. .. I have been following this sites steps like the bible with input from other forums as well

No I haven't, I didn't want to run a front mount because there is no room for it unless you remove the AC components so I had always planned on remote mounting it.... plus I wanted to do this on a fairly tight budget, so far I think I might be able to do this for under $1500 minus a dyno tune. I need to figure out where you got your A pillar Gauge pod and what meth kit are you running? I will definitely need help getting it tuned though

I don't see how you can run the up pipe for the turbo in that engine bay as is my headers seem really tight to the frame rails... anyways I wanted to do the remote mount turbo for the following reason
● keep the extra heat out of the engine bay
● better weight distribution (I know people are going to say that the additional 38-40 lbs isn't going to matter) but I am sure every little bit helps
● I didn't want to mess with the exhaust system too much meaning I still wanted to keep my Longtube headers and just splice in the turbo in the current setup.
● having a remote mount setup will help retain a sleeper mystique when I pop the hood and everything still appears relatively stock.
I think a rear mount twin turbo will be best that way I will have a turbo for each of the exhaust. them 2 pipe join together in a single intake pipe for bouth turbo.
I know Rhanselman has work a lot on that nice set up. but on exhaust pipe. for a V8. I just prefer 2. just my opinion.
