A quick glance looks like possibly there's a modification that's required for the D44 cover. Yes/No?
It certainly is interesting.
The front mount is certainly practical for maybe it's intentioned creation also.

It bolts on no mods to the batwing. Also will fit a viper with different machining.

I really need this in my 1987 Corvette, she is going to have a H/C/I 5.3 with 150 wet shot on E85.

I understand most of what you've mentioned and although when I put the D44 and your "construction" side by side I didn't see the direct marriage of the cover to yours but if it is it is, it's likely my visualization.
The C-beam mount though in your snapshot looks to certainly require that the C-beam be "altered" for use. The C-beam mounts on a D44 are parallel to the pinion & drive-line and the mount on yours (on the right side) seems to not be parallel to the pinion and drive-line. The left side certainly does but not the Corvette required side. Is that something that's been addressed easily? Your C-beam seems to only display one fastener and something else I can't make out in the image. Do you have a snapshot of a C-beam attached and a Corvette D44 cover bolted to the housing with maybe more detail?
