Default A/c programmer

Any one tell me how to remove the a/c programer? I'm going through the service manual step by step and it tells me to disconnect the heater and a/c programmer connector. Any one know how to remove the connector from programmer

You have to first remove the knee pad from the driver's side for visibility. Screws on bottom and the side.
One screw holds in the programmer.
The programmer won't drop down till you remove the connector.
Get a flashlight with lots of light. This is the hardest part. There is blue tab you push down and the connector will release, not easy to do.
Once that is done, the box will drop down where you can get to it.
The cardboard backing is held on with tape so just open it up so you can see the boards.
Remove the small one and let it hang. 2 screws.
Remove the big board and take it out. one connector, 2 screws.

Did you see my PM to you and the end of your original thread with the actual repair instructions and link?

pcolt94's description is for the later unit. If your car is older than 1990 then it's completely different.

The programmer is held by one 7mm screw. The hardest part is getting the clip off the silicone block that has all the vacuum lines coming out of it. That clip is buried in the middle of the vacuum lines and may be hard to find.

Its a 1992 car so I think my information is valid.

The clip and vacuum hoses are a pain since the clip usually has to be broken which adds just another thing to repair. But the whole box does not have to come out to service the circuit board. That's why I leave the lines connected. The board with the vacuum relays are probably just fine, the main control board comes out easy.

That's a good find. Sounds like it was a man made problem.

Your moving forward.
