1994 C41 and SYS
1. Car will start when clutch pedal is buried in the carpet. The clutch switch is in a location where my big head, shoulders and arms will not go. Even if all I want to do is bypass the switch.[B] Is there a way to adjust the switch or get at it more easily?
2. When I start the car it runs for a few seconds then stops. The codes come up as follows.
1. C41
4. ERR
9. ERR
A. ERR
I found a purple wire in the red plug in the PCM that was pulled out. It was a ground from what I found. Plugged it in but no changes.
I checked for corrosion on the PCM connectors and found none.
I checked all the fuses and found none blown.
I have the two volume GM Service Manual and the CCM Book. I see what they are asking me to try on 8D-55 in Book 2 but again, big head will get in the way.
Based on the car seating around not being used, what do you think the most obvious problem could be?
Thanks,
Jack
Start with the basics. When it quits, you need to be checking fuel pressure, injector pulses and check for spark. That will give you a real direction.
Before I would go off the deep end running after codes, I would clear all codes first (disconnect battery and reconnect). Then check for codes and see what you got. The indications in module 4,9 & A are meaningless. They look like some sort of error. (Only modules 1 and 4 are important at this time to get engine running)
The code in module 1 (C41 looks valid), is a loss of serial communication between the CCM and PCM. (Not good). This could be the reason that you get the ERR (which is not a code) because the communication link is not working.
For the engine to run there needs to be communication between the CCM and PCM so that the CCM can turn on the PCM which is FEDS, which is basically the fuel injector drive.
You have a lot going on there and it's hard to tell exactly what is not working. Could be anything from a module or a wiring problem (bad connection, pulled wire etc).

As per the links I posted above
