I get the same results as far as jacking the car and seeing the whole side come up at times.
Interesting,Ive noticed when the car is jacked up in front,on jackstands, back wheels on the ground, etc, then going to open the hood y reaching into the door, the hood POPS up ALOT BETTER then it does when all 4 wheels are on the ground.
Its def. flexing albeit, the frame-suspension travel is minimal when jacking the car.
What I do like about the C4,when jacking the car to do a brake job or pull off a wheel,it doesnt take long to lift the wheel off the ground.Other cars, seems forever to keep jacking while the coil springs/etc keep dropping while the car goes higher and higher.
Usually you will notice the flex in the beginning of jacking (that sounds so wrong). On my '88 w/Z52 (or whatever it was called that year), the front corner I am jacking up lifts an inch or so before the back wheel lifts up... then the whole side starts lifting.
The time I really notice it is when the top is off and I am pulling into a steep driveway at an angle. The whole cowl twists and I can feel the front and back of the car are on different planes. The associated twisting and groaning noises don't help :)
Re: C4 body flex while jacking. Do you get it? (65Z01)
Being vetteless, please excuse me for being stupid but I thought it was implied to always remove the top before jacking up one corner to prevent cracking the top?
