I am considering installing Cooper Zeon RS-3S tires on my 92. Since the BF Goodrich TA KDW has been discontinued, i am forced to pick a new tire. I just recently came across the Cooper tire. I understand that Cooper is one of two tire companies that manufacture tires in the US. I also understand they are currently bidding with F1 for their spec tires.
Think they are owned by Kelly Springfield who owns a bunch of names unless things have changed
Couple guys here in the tire biz that probably know more
Never tried the Zeons but have used Coopers on other cars had great luck with them. Not a bad bang for the buck
Hi
I was pleasantly surprised at the wet/dry performance of Nexen tires!
I originally was put of by them being manufactured in Taiwan, however they have been the best tires i have ever had on my vette.
There is not as much choice for 275 40 17 tires here in Australia compared to what is available in the united States.
They stick like glue on wet and dry roads, are a quiet and smooth riding tire and best of all very cheap!! have been on my car for around a year..

I tried the NeXeN last summer. The above statement is 100% right !
I've never (not in 20 yrs) seen a tire at that price that had this long wear, very good grip on wet or dry asphalt & concrete. They do not SING like many do, (Yoko) and they look great. At <$125 ea that's as good as you're going to find, anywhere for a good 17" performance tire.
I used the BFG G-force for several years...good tire as well.
Was the G-force d/c also? Those were good long wearing tires for about $165 ea...a few yrs ago.
Another Korean clone that's promising is the Riken Raptor. Similar to the NeXen, and about the same cost. A little harder to find. Not as common as NeXen. One is @ pep-boys, the other at Discount.
Good luck
I have Cooper Winter Treads on my truck and they are great, plus I have Cooper all season tires on the van. I have no complaints on either. I'll look at them when the day comes I need tires on the Vette.

I had Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus tires on my truck, and was extremely happy with them.
When it comes time for tires on my new truck, I'll probably get them again.

isn't Kelly-Springfield owned by Goodyear? - ??? back in ohio, I had cooper zeons on my steel blue 90, and I can say they were decent tires EXCEPT in cold weather - not driving in snow, since I never drove my corvette in the snow, but cold road temps. I'm living in florida, and when I need tires on my artic white 90, I will consider coopers.
I have some Cooper Zeon 2XS tires. I do not like them.
In snow or even wet surfaces they spin really easy. Not just with a lot of throttle, but just trying to get moving.
These tires came on my car when I bought it. The previous owner abused them. It looks like they were run at low pressure and the result was uneven wear. The tires generally still drive OK, but they are the loudest tires I have ever had (even worse than the Goodyear runflats that are notoriously loud on the C5's). I took them off just to get rid of the noise.
Maybe these tires would have been better if not abused, but in their current state they are not too good.
