Default Need a BIN

Does anyone have a BIN you could send me for my 1987 C-4? Here's what's done to it, Hedman Street Hedders 68440, 2-1/2" SS Pypes Race Pro Dual Exhaust Systems SCC40R, all pollution crap removed, A/C removed and NOS (wet system). I need a starting point. I have a Moates order on it's way (GM Adapter with chip, ALDU1 and CABL1, BURN2 Chip Programmer, TunerPro RT V5, Ostrich 2.0). Thanks

OK, I'll bite...What's a BIN? Maybe I've been spending too much time on Ebay, but the only thing that pops into my head is "Buy It Now".

- I wanted to know, but I was afraid to ask... -

based on this -
I have a Moates order on it's way (GM Adapter with chip, ALDU1 and CABL1, BURN2 Chip Programmer, TunerPro RT V5, Ostrich 2.0).
- my best guess is it's some sort of programming thing -

From BINary -- A name for directories that contain files stored in binary format -- computer-readable but not human-readable files.

BIN is the "tuning" file that gets burned onto his chip.

Start with an ARAP bin and a 6E definition file. You can download them off the net. This will eliminate the need for the cold start injector.

What if it's a manual trans? I'd use AYPY if it is, but without knowing you can't help the OP.

Good point on the trans. I didnt know ARAP will not work with a stick. There is a flag for manual there.

here your Gral...

register here and you have access to ALL GM BIN and Definition file for Tunerpro, obviously you have to choose
#1227165 ECM and model year-auto-manual,and final ratio(2.59-3.07...)

http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...ams-Tuner-Info!

only stock .bin here (some minor modd or extended rpm version),if you'r asking a base/starting (modified .bin) for your modded engine this is another thing...

Jack, Off the top of my head the spark, idle, and TPS tables are different just to name a few. Idle alone is 150 RPM higher in a manual file. The ARAP file would run in a manual, but not as good as a APYP would.

I am sure you are correct. My bin started out as ARAP, but its so different now I dont know why I even think of it as being ARAP.

Do you have the 87 Prom? I believe you can download the Bin off of your factory prom. Then make changes and burn a new chip.

Jack, Do you have the current BIN you're running now? If so, can you send me the info.? I'd like to get a copy of someone who's running headers and 2-1/2" pipes. I'll deal with the NOS at the track. My understanding is the transmission doesn't make a difference except for the idol (I have an auto).

Hi

Should have posted this question in the C4 scan and tune section.

The tunerpro website has all what you need, has been some time since i was playing around with tuning my 85 with tunerpro.

I believe you need the 32B.xdf and the datastream definition, see the link below.

Save everything on your standard chip, always have a spare or back up
!!!!
You can get yourself into heaps of trouble but look in the C4scan and tune section before you get started.

enjoy

Idol is a tv show.
If you compare the manual to the auto file there's quite a few tables that are different including the idle table. Spark tables are quite different also as are at least 5 other tables.

Here's a stock 89 file.

You would do better with another bin. Mr ****** suggestion should work. http://www.scotthansen.net/ARAR4198.bin
When you spray it, you need to reduce timing at least 2 degrees. My race bin has the idle at 1000 rpm so when I stage up, I dont have to feather the gas pedal. I like to stage aat the same rpm each run.

I believe this is what you need to download the Bin in your Memcal. That way you know it is exact.
