Default brake question

the pin that holds the caliper on is it on the bottom of the caliper or the top when sitting in the bracket..i have seen a post of someone selling the whole front end on here and the pin sits at the bottom of the caliper, that could be why mine are clunking when i brake, i installed them the way they came off, op may have put them on wrong to start..even with two sets of new clips they still make noise..

i take one step forward and 2 back it seems.........

the pin sits at the bottom of the caliper housing. there should also be a circlip securing the pin in place. if you are getting a clunking noise, it could be that the pins are worn, allowing caliper movement on the mounting bracket. the FSM indicates to install new pins during brake service.

so if I'm reading this right the caliper brackets are on the wrong side of the car, seeing the new pins are on top not the bottom of the caliper correct...
so i need to tear it down and reverse the brackets..

Yes, pins are on the bottom. If your car has the pins installed on the top, that is wrong.
