Default Bare vs Assembled Heads?

I would like to get some opinions on buying heads bare vs assembled..

My quandary is that I see the heads I am considering IK200 for $780 bare and $1210 assembled. So there is a $430 difference between the two.

I know already that I want to go with different springs than the 1.250 that come with it.. I am also considering going with lighter valves.

A few people I have spoken with have suggested I have the springs and/or valves changed out by Brodix themselves..

Would it make more since to buy bare and buy my better valve train components separately? Or would it make since to buy assembled heads and just change out the springs/valves etc..?

With the difference being all of $430, I know this would not be enough to actually set bare heads up, however I would much rather use the $430 towards stuff I want and not stuff Im going to change.

With all the machine work needed to set up bare heads, as well as buying the valve springs, retainers, rocker studs, what would you all say is optimal?

Why would you want to pay for parts and labor that you're not going to use? You can get your heads built exactly to your requirements, and save money too! Find a place that will build them your way! You might try Larry's Performance Shop in Montebello CA. Phone: 323-722-8865 They've done some nice work for me.
