As some of you know I am restoring a neglected 84 with original crossfire. I have done quite a bit to this car but keep running into little glitches. The latest one is I bought a brand new battery last week and cleaned connectors and car started just fine. I went out today after it's been sitting quietly for 4 days, the battery was so dead that nothing came on. What's the best way to tackle a issue like this? If the horn is connected it constantly sounds if that means anything. Thanks for the help.

When you disconnected the horns, did you disconnect the horn relay, or just the horns near the radiator? If the horn relay is still connected, it'll drain your battery. The relay is taped to the wire harness under the dashboard, just above the big connector near the steering column.
If that's your problem, and your battery is charged, the relay will probably be warm after about an hour!

When I first bought the car the previous clowns had wired the fan into the CTSY fuze to run all the time and disconnected the horns at radiator, without mentioning this when I asked if the car had any issues!!!! . I reconnected the horns and put the fuze in. The fan came on and the horns sounded. I fixed the fan with a new fan switch and rewired it properly but just left the horns unplugged. Glad you brought up the horn relay. I'll remove it and see what my battery draw is. Thanks!!!

Hot Rod, you were right. That horn relay was super hot. I bought a new one just to see what happens and the horn keeps going off so that's a whole new issue. I think I will just leave it off to save my battery.
