Usually the installer hooks the Viper power source directly to the positive term of the battery and puts an in-line fuse. If you remove the fuse it neuters the alarm. But each installer is different and they may have done it some other way.
Look for a small guage wire coming off the + battery terminal and see if there is an inline fuse. This would look like a non-standard, non-factory connection.
