This problem has been going on a while. I posted my problem several months ago and tried all suggestions. Seems when I put my '84 under a load (passing, going up steep hills, etc) the car studders/falters. I let off the gas and it quits. Here's what I've done: New Bosch fuel pump and filter, new plugs, new dist cap/rotor. New Map sensor, tpi sensor, radiator sensor, oxy sensor.......Tried running cleaner through the system, just cant' get rid of that stumble when accelerating. I even installed a new cat converter. Any suggestions? Seems like it's not advancing timing correctly upon acceleration? How would I know? It's embarrassing when I try to pass a 1970 Pinto and struggle to get around!!! Help!!!!
I had those symptoms when I had a bad plug wire. It was #6 and it arced to the engine oil dipstick tube. I found it by looking at the plug wires in a dark garage.
Just changed out plug wires.......no help. Will check egr. Someone above mentioned something about "throttle shaft vacuum leaks"...??? And something about "remove the vacuum and plumb tb to test"...Can you give me a little more detail on what to do here? And how would I know if my module is acting up?

At this point I'd check (re check?) fuel pressure. Symptoms point toward it and it's a common issue on CFI. Hook up a gauge so that you can read it while driving (while the symptom occurs).
