Default FX3 Ride Control Replacement

Anyone eliminate their FX3 ride control function and replace the Bilsteins with another brand shock? If so, what did you go with and anything I should be aware of? Was it an easy replacement? I have a 95 and was thinking of putting regular KYBs on it until I can get the Bilsteins rebuilt.

Thanks!

I did exactly that (KYB's). Disconnect and save all four actuators. On the rear ones, wire the connectors so that they don't slip down the frame rails. Pull the plug on the FX3 control box, so you don't get error codes. Its in the hatch right behind the driver seat, and is held in place by velcro.

^That is what I did. I also taped up the connectors to keep dirt/etc...out of them. I put Koni shocks on mine. Glad I did.

Thanks all, replaced the shocks with KYBs and disconnected the FX3 system. Anyone gain an inch or 2 in height after they replaced their shocks? It seems that I did and idk if it's coz the old shocks were that bad or was it something I did wrong.

I did it as well. in my case I installed Bilstein Sport with Z51, since my car has the option Heavy Duty whatever...

Edit: this what I have,

The Z07 Performance package included Heavy Duty Lower Control Arm Bushings, 30mm SOLID front sway bar, 24mm solid rear sway bar, Stiffer front and rear springs, the FX3 shock package, and the J55 13" front brake setup.
