I'll be driving along at about 40 mph and the engine will just die. It won't do anything funny before that either. Tonight when it happened I just popped it into neutral, hit the key, and it started back up. It would go a few feet and then die again. The stereo and all of the lights will stay on though. I pulled into a parking lot and turned it off and drank a soda. I got back in the car and drove the rest of the way home without a problem. It does this intermittently. And it's not giving any codes either. I'm kind of new to this fuel injection stuff so if I ask any stupid questions don't give me too much crap. I'm still learning.
I checked all of the battery and alternator wires and everything looks fine. The voltage from the alt is fine also. I'm so
Put a fuel pressure gauge onto the Schraeder valve to check fuel pressure when it next happens.
The fuel pump could be going or it could be a problem with the three contacts just under the fuel pump mounting flange. They get corroded with time and simulate a bad fuel pump.
