I've been having a problem now for a while, where my power windows intermittently stop working. It has happened to both windows, but usually never at the same time. Then they'll start working again. I never know when it's going to happen, but it's been happening much more frequently lately. Does anyone have a suggestion on what this could be?
thanks in advance!!

Exercise the switches and consider removing them to clean them with 'contact cleaner'. The earlier ones are vented on the back-side and it's easy to use contact cleaner with the tube that's usually attached to the can. Exercise is good for all of the switches.
One of my windows was doing the same thing. I found that the nuts holding the window in place were all very loose. I tightened them up and so far so good.
I had the same problem on the passenger window on my 94. I pulled out the manuals and did a check on the switches. I discovered I jad a loose wire in the switch. I pulled all of the wires & cleaned the contacts on both the drivers side & passenger side. As of yesterday all was working fine. I'm glad, I did not want to put in a motor &/or regulator.
My '93 switch on drivers door works ok for the drivers door but the passenger switch will not lower passenger but will close it. The passenger door switch works ok. Will check on cleaning switch.
Easy way to clean up the Switches is to spray WD with the spray nossle in the head of the can directly into the switch itself. The high pressure WD shooting out of the can does the trick every time on a dead switch contact problem
