Thanks

OK is "subjective" - Without spacers they will look "silly"! The car will roll but there is likely going to be issues.

The wheels will fit, but will sit "inboard" approximately an inch too far. Early C4s has offsets of 32mm (8.5" wheels) or 38mm (9.5" wheels), and the 88 and newer cars of offsets of 50mm or 56mm (8.5" or 9.5" wheels). I think the general consensus is that 1" spacers will bring the wheels out just the right amount. Just be sure that the spacers you purchase have a center bore of 70.3. IF you purchase them from one of the major corvette vendors, you will get the right ones...

While there were offset differences between the front and rear wheels of the 88 and later cars based on the suspension package, it would be best to find a set of 4 wheels that are 17x 9-1/2" in size and have a 56mm offset. The 9-1/2" width will allow you to mount a 275/40-17 tire on each wheel. This size is still widely available. The 275/40-17 tire has nearly identical dimensions to the 255/50-16 tire mounted on the early 16x9-1/2 wheel. With the 17" wheel and 275 tire, you will be able to rotate the tires at least front to back; that will help with tire life.

The 9/1/2" wide wheel will bolt on but it will sit 3/4" further inside compared to the stock 38mm offset found on the 16x9-1/2" wheel. Using a 3/4" adapter will move the wheels outboard that distance and the wheel/tire will sit properly in the wheelwell.
