Hi everyone new to the thread & forum world. I have a 1986 Corvette 105,xxx miles... only thing done to it is a bigger throttle body, k&n air filter, and flowmaster exhaust. looking to replace my valve guides soon and figured might as well do a complete overhall while i have it apart and was wondering what some easy performance modifications would be thanks!!

basics first. The TB on a stock TPI, unless it was free. Money was wasted.
gears, LT1 cats or elimination, headers, quality 1.6 roller rockers apprx .30+ lift, a slight gain. Lower stat, TB iac coolant bypass. Prom Tune!
depends on your goal. And your wallet limit.

No such thing. Performance is neither cheap nor easy. If the heads are coming off, I would ask why. Are you sure the short block is good? If so, change the cam.
When I rebuilt, I changed the cam to match the AFR heads, intake and headers. Also the Roller Rockers were 1.5 and 1.6 to match the cam profile. Dyno tuning.
While you are there, dump the injectors if they are stock Multecs. Change the fuel pressure regulator and the hoses. Your K&N and the TB don't make power really unless the rest of the pieces are supporting it.

Actually, my buddy did JUST the TB and the coolant bypass. Made several runs with it, took it off and put the stock one back. Guess what. Stock was faster consistently.

1st as I stated on a stock engine, The TB is a Waste of money.
Technically if you install a bigger TB and do not re-tune, your AFR is now against your true potential. It's a proven fact the ported / larger TB will deliver more CFM this will pay off especially with heads, Cam, inj, intake.

It was for him as I said he did go slower with it when stock.
