Finally Finished up with removing weight from the car. I am very satisfied with the results. My goal was to get as close to 2900lbs as possible empty. Ended up at 2896lbs per my scales. This weight was with all the gas removed. I added 7gals of Sunoco 93 and went back up to 2976lbs.
Can't wait to see what kind of difference this will make. Yes it should make the car brake shorter, accelerate quicker, and possibly rotate around the corners quicker.
Yes, the weight of the fuel has me curious as well. I measured the 7 gal in my graduated container. I did drop the car off this morning for alignment and balance, so I will see what weight they come up with. Also, I may just weigh a gallon of it tonight and see what I come up with.
And for those wondering, I did roll the car off and zero'd the scales each time I weighed the car.
I hope you have been doing the same thing and setting a good example for the car !
Working on that too. Just hit a plateau and can't seem to get past. my goal was 40lb for myself but up through last week had managed 0lb. Been doing cross training and swimming 4 days a week. Lost a lot of fat but no weight yet. Doc say should slowly start to lose. Maybe I will hit my goal by next year!!

thats the problem with training, you lose fat but build muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat !
Nice work to get that thing to 2900#.Mine is at 3200#,like to see your diet plan.

The main items were; true carbon fiber hood, lightweight battery, removed complete radio including speakers and wiring, complete airbag system including control module and all associated wiring, manual seat tracks with stock seats(these stock sport seats are as light as any race seat unless you get to the 100% carbon fiber ones), 2 Piece brake rotors, custom exhaust, AL trans pan, and other misc items.

Which battery did you use? I just got a new Battery Tender battery that's 3.4 lbs, it was able to fire up my higher compression 383 no problem. I'll have to see how it last as far as amperage and standing by.

Thanks for the info and let me know how this battery holds up. I got an AGM Battery from Battery Mart that is 220cca. It weighs around 11lbs. I found it in a thread search for lightweight batteries. Of course, cutting another 7 to 8lbs would be just fine by me.
