I looked. Didn't see anyway to do it on the LT1 with cast manifolds. That is how they mount the coils on the C7R's LT5.5 engine:

I also looked for a spot on the frame rails and couldn't find anywhere either, atleast not without a lot of modification. I would them on the frame rails though!

Ha ha ha...the Caddy Race engine is where my pic was from too! That is trick...but I thought it might be a tough fit in the 'Vette.

It is! I unbolted my brackets and tried a bunch of different places. No dice. I did see this on ebay which are pretty trick:

^^While that would group the coils together I think those too would come with their own set of downfalls/clearance issues. The upright triangulation braces that go from the frame rail up to the firewall area would be an ideal place to hang these off of. But on the driver side you have the PCM, Steering Linkage, ASR, and manifolds. On the passenger side you just have the HVAC Box/Coolant reservoir. I feel the C4 gets ragged on for being, "poorly engineered," but everything under the hood was put in a specific spot for a reason. It is very hard to fit something else under there. Took me a full day just to find a place to mount the LTCC brain (Have to keep it dry, somewhat cool, and out of the way of other things).

Yep... 10-4 on that one!

It seems more focused on the early LS1 coils. The LS2 coils are far better. That's what I am using.
I'm thinking of converting to EFI Connections CNP also but plan on using D585 coils.
I have under my alum valve covers .315" spacers, so the covers are that much higher than stock.

Did you have to do anything to the hood because of clearance issues??
Which coils are you using??

The D581's might be a good alternative along with a possible advantage in output. They do not have the high performance heatsink at the end.

I like the way my installation came out. The black breaks up the polished valve covers and looks more "race car" to me. You definitely have to be a little creative when installing...
