my est connector melted on my manifold...I repaired it but I need to trace it to check for other damage. I repaired it and the engine light went off. I still get a 42 code . What's a likely place to to look for a bad connection. Sometimes moving wires around seems to help. thanks
I had several codes yesterday but now there are none. The other codes were fixed. I still runs like crap . If I check the wire that burnt with a meter I assume it should not be grounded? thanks
The wires going to my fuel pump relay had gotten hot and melted the insulation. I cleaned all that up with no changes. The other night I unplugged it while the car was running and it shut off. Tonight I unplugged it and the car kept running? I can really notice a difference when I played with the harness they are in. The car use to smoke when I first started it. She needs valve guide seals. It stopped doing that lately
until tonight. After fooling with the relay and wires she smoked when I fired it up. That's gotta be a sign of something I would guess. Any thoughts ....thanks
The wires attached to my EST connector are nowhere near long enough to allow the connector to touch a manifold. Are you sure it's the EST connector (tan wires with black stripe) that you're dealing with?
When the engine is running the oil pressure switch will keep the fuel pump running if the fuel pump relay is disconnected (and vice versa).
Well you may be right...The connector I had melt was round. It came out of the same harness as the pump relay. It was just 1 wire. looked to be a faded tan. I basically reattached it without the connector. This is getting interesting.......thanks
