lets see. Ive got an air foil, coolant bypass, 160 degree thermostat, cat back exaust, k&n filter with opened up box, and a custom chip by hibach. I guess im putting down about 400 to the rear wheels truth be told id be impressed if I gained 10 rwhp.
Custom tune - around 15hp
Magnaflow cat-back exhaust - 10hp
K&N air filter - 3hp
Mid America Motorworks Mass-Airflow-Sensor Housing - 9hp(they claim)
So, added up...looking at about a 37hp net increase?
You can't "add up hp" like that. Doesn't work. First, the advertised gains claim UP TO xx HP. Meaning, on a highly modified motor, where the item in question has become a meaningful restriction, changing to their part may gain the number that they're claiming. On a STOCK or stockish motor, where the item in question is not a meaningful restriction, the power gains will be somewhere between nothing and meaningless.
You may have gained a few hp from what you've done, but certainly not 37 hp. Instead of guessing, why not put it on a chassis dyno to find out?

car is in the shop right now...I was just speculating before picking it up. I'll get the dyno results at that time.

"Accustomed as we are to 600-, 800-, and even 1,000hp C5s and C6s, we were primed for disappointment when Anti-Venom proprietor Greg Lovell strapped our virgin '96 to the shop's Dynojet chassis dyno for its first pull. We were pleasantly surprised, then, when the car registered a respectable 263.3 horses and 291.5 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, not too far off what one might expect from an early automatic C5. After a backup test produced virtually identical numbers, we unlimbered the tools and got to work."
Sorry as everyone is telling you. It does not work this way. Such as filter, 104 fuel, spark plugs, wires, dist, MAF housing & such.. NO gain mods. If this were the case. what I listed would make 30HP in your eye's or reading material. 1.6 rockers, Gears, Cam & tune and so on will result in the power add on's you are looking for.

I have no idea what your quote is supposed to convey here. The stock LT1 dyno'ed 263 hp. So what? Mine dyno'ed 279 stock...
they're added up net gain the same way I'm speculating what my net increase end result will be. So why can't I apply using this method as well?
They didn't "add up" the numbers, the dyno tested the car after the addition of each mod (w/o removing the previous mods).
Whatever they did, here is the bottom line: they spent ~$300.00 to get 13 hp. For that same amount of money, you could buy a cam, that would give you an honest 30hp or more. Diddle-f'ing around w/mass air meters, filters and mufflers is a waste of $$ if you're goal is HP.
