Cumulative HP gain?
Also IMO an honest shop that has a dyno would know by no the amount of cash you are paying for all this is not worth it. Including his big bill for playing with your car. Better off paying for a full tune up and fluid flushes etc.
Good luck!
They didn't "add up" the numbers, the dyno tested the car after the addition of each mod (w/o removing the previous mods).
Whatever they did, here is the bottom line: they spent ~$300.00 to get 13 hp. For that same amount of money, you could buy a cam, that would give you an honest 300hp or more. Diddle-f'ing around w/mass air meters, filters and mufflers is a waste of $$ if you're goal is HP.
"We were stunned when the Dynojet registered improvements of 9 rwhp and 7 rwtq-precisely what Mid America claims for the unit in its catalog. That the plastic aftermarket housing is lighter and conducts less heat than the aluminum stocker is an added bonus.
Aside from a forced-induction system or nitrous kit, this may be the first aftermarket part we've tested whose performance actually lived up to its advance billing. Even at its regular price of $99.95, this one's a steal."
No one called you a dumb ***. No one implied it either, but lets examine what really happened here:
1. You asked if you can add up hp of parts that typically don't add meaningful hp. This same question has been asked a million times here. You can't "add up hp" and those parts typically don't do much -especially for the money.
2. Veterans respond for the "millionth" time, trying to HELP PREVENT YOU FROM WASTING YOUR MONEY, with good, sound advice.
3. You come back debating what has been posted, and you cite a mag article where they spend $300 to gain 13hp. -basically a meaningless amount.
Now this comment:
Soooo what ARE you truly trying to accomplish in this thread? You don't really want hp, but you're happy to spend money? I don't "get it". I "get" that not all folks want 500 hp. I "get" that on one of the parts they gained the actual advertised amount (unusual, but in that case, w/that car, they did and it amounted to ~3%)....but I've never met anyone who wanted to spend more than they needed to, to meet their hp goals. Sorry if the knowledgeable veterans of this forum offended you w/their good advice.

I couldn't care a less what the eventual net increase on my car is big or not will be...just wanted to create a FUN thread and speculate the end result when I get it back this week.
I didn't know a tune and exhaust mods were considered a waste of money. Further, I did ask if anyone thought it a waste of money either.
I didn't ask for anyones advise...I asked a question.
I saw the article and was just trying to speculate what the net gains would be based upon their methodology. I'm happy with whatever..it's not that big of a deal.
I'm well aware one needs $$$ for significant mods.
I was just making a comparison to the posted article.
I said dumb-*** inferred....matter of subjective opinion.
I very much appreciated advise from anyone, but not being schooled about WASTING $$. I didn't ask anyone's opinion on how to spend my money.
Offended?? Please...only liberal sissys get offended.
As mentioned I'm a newbie...not my fault this may be the millionth time the subject has been brought up.
Don't bother trying to analyzing my post. I say what I mean and mean what I say.
nuff said on this thread....moving on

Right, then you started arguing w/the answers. Was that the "fun part"?
Right. THAT must be the "fun part".

So, what's FUN about it? You asked a question taht's been asked a million times. Is THAT "fun"? Then when you got sincere responses...ya ARGUED with them. Is THAT "fun"?? Where was the "fun" part of this thread?
Right, then you started arguing w/the answers. Was that the "fun part"?
You misunderstood their methodology. We tried to explain that.
You're absolutely right, that it's not your fault that it's been brought up before. There is no way you could know that...other than doing a search. What IS your fault, is arguing w/the answers that you were provided, as a noob by senior veterans....then getting butt hurt about the responses. Ya ARE new here, so keep that in mind when guy who know WTF they're talking about, are telling you how it is.
Right. THAT must be the "fun part".
