Default LED interior/exterior upgrade

After going HID headlights and foglights and switching to LED tail lights and CHMSL light in my 89 (2 strips of 24 leds fit nicely) , I have decided to upgrade the bulbs in the interior and a few exterior ones.

I noticed a kit or two around but decided to piece them together myself on that auction site.

Here's my list, let me know if I'm missing anything.

Door courtesy light (bulb 212-2 = 211-1) x 2 [12 SMD]
Cargo light (bulb 906 = bulb 194) x 2 [10 SMD]
Floor courtesy light (bulb 563 = bulb 564) x 2 [12 SMD]
Console lid light (bulb 564) x 1 [12 SMD]
Mirror/Map light (bulb 74) x 2 [1 SMD]
Underhood light (bulb 211-2 = 212-2) x 2 [12 SMD]
Side Marker light (bulb 24 = bulb 194) x 4 [10 SMD]
License Plate (bulb 24 = bulb 194) x 1 [10 SMD]
Parking light / Turn signal (bulb 2057NA = bulb 1157 switchable) x 2 [60 SMD]
(The parking / turn light is 30 SMD White + 30 SMD Amber and the parking lights are white and light up amber upon turn signal activation, and also come with 2 resistors to prevent anti-flash issues)

Changed all of mine out a few weeks ago. Flat love the looks after the change.

It looks like you have it pretty much covered in that list.

All of the bulbs are from the same seller and the estimated time of arrival is Mon.
18 LED kit (+ 16 assorted spares) came to $36.95 with free shipping.

I don't see the wiper control light, Trans light if you have an automatic or the little light that shines down on the shifter console when the light switch is pulled, forget what that one is called.

Going to pick the LEDs up tomorrow.

I live in Canada on the St. Lawrence River bordering northern NY. Easier and cheaper to have them delivered there and I drive over to pick them up.

black_89_vette, don't know what color of LED's you ordered but you will really like the cargo side door, visor, and Floor bulbs, anything interior. Hoods are good. You may be disappointed with the LED's mounted on the outside body.

I used vendor " ledkingdom-us" for all the LED purchases. Great price and a shipped fast.

Today, I replaced the door x 2, cargo x 2, map x 3, underhood lights x 2, side marker x 4 and front running/signal light x 2.

They do look a lot brighter, I am pleased.

However, I have some issues. The running/turn signals I replaced blink slowly on turn signal activation. I installed with in line resistors for any hyperflash problems. Also, the side markers (front and rear) appear to use the smaller 74 bulb instead of the 194 that I thought they would be using. I will check that again tomorrow.

The 74s I bought are only 1 SMD, where the 194s have 5 SMD. Therefore, the 74s are not that bright.

I also still have yet to do the footwell area.

The LEDs are all a bright white, no other colors used.

Tomorrow, I plan on seeing if I can fit the 194s in place of the 74s for the side markers and am going to take off the instrument panel bezel and see if I can pull the 4 illumination bulbs out and replace them with the 194s. Also, the turn signal indicators as well as the hi beam indicators with some 74s.

One thing I forgot to grab was the 1156 bulbs which are the larger cornering (fronts) lights and the backup lights (rear) that are beside the side markers.

I really like the driving light/turn signals I picked up. They are called switchback LEDs. They have 60 SMDs on it. 30 are white and 30 are amber. The running lights are white, but when the turn signal is on, they flash amber. That being said, I need to figure out why they blink slowly.

those side markers are listed as #24.. isn't that smaller than the #74 or 194 for that matter? is the wedge for the socket I different size?

it shows #24 for side markers and license plate

Yeah, I saw it listed as #24 , but for the life of me, I swear I read that the 194 would be a replacement for them.

The 74s fit the spot. Maybe I should just buy a 3 SMD 74 for brightness.

I read the fittings on this site and it says 194 is for the front sidemarker. I will double check, but I know I have the 74s in and the 194s are prob too big.
