Default Installing self aligning rollers on '88, change push rods?

I'm installing a set of Scorpion SCP1036's on my '88. Since they're self aligning, I'll be removing the factory guide plates. Is it necessary to go to a shorter push rod to offset the variance in stud height after the plates are removed in order to maintain correct geometry?

Found a bit more research suggesting that, the factory guide plates on the 113 heads were used more for installation alignment, and do not touch the push rods during operation. Leads me to believe the the guide plates do not need to be removed, since the factory rocker arms were also self aligning. Just wanting to make sure....

The geometry should still be checked....This should be done every time anything on the top end is changed..You can mark the valve tip with a black marker, then reinstall the rocker and turn the motor over a few times by hand..Then remove the rocker and check to make sure the wear line is in the center portion of the valve tip..You should also check for clearance at the spring cap to make sure your rocker doesn't touch the cap from full open, to full closed, a feeler gauge works good for this..thumbs:..WW
